Meet Dr. Audrey Sim
Background and Experience
Dr. Audrey Sim grew up in Algonquin and developed a strong connection to the community from an early age. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989, followed by her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry in 1993. During dental school, her goal was to return to Algonquin to build her career and serve the community she had long called home. She began practicing in Algonquin in 1995 and now brings more than 30 years of experience in comprehensive restorative, cosmetic, and implant-related dental care.
Dr. Audrey began her Algonquin career at All Smiles Dental, where she served as a co-managing partner, practice leader, and general dentist for more than 13 years. She later founded Algonquin Smiles, where she continued caring for local individuals and families for many years. Her extensive experience owning and leading two successful dental practices has given her a comprehensive understanding of patient care, treatment planning, dental technology, and the importance of building trusting and lasting relationships with patients.
Clinical Care and Philosophy
Dr. Audrey provides a wide range of dental services, including cosmetic and restorative dentistry, crowns and bridges, veneers, dentures, implant restorations, implant-supported dentures, clear aligner therapy, and comprehensive treatment planning. She has also completed advanced training in digital dentistry, full-mouth restoration, implant dentistry, removable prosthodontics, and modern restorative techniques.
Dr. Audrey has extensive experience using modern dental technologies, including digital radiography, intraoral photography, digital scanning, CAD/CAM same-day crown technology, guided implant systems, 3D-printed dentures, and advanced diagnostic tools. She combines these technologies with decades of clinical experience to provide efficient, precise, and personalized care and remains committed to continuing education and staying current with evolving techniques.
Known for her clear communication and detail-focused approach, Dr. Audrey takes time to listen to each patient’s concerns, explain treatment options, and help patients feel comfortable and confident in their care. She believes excellent dentistry should combine high clinical standards with empathy, education, and an individualized approach—without ever making patients feel rushed.
At Advanced Dental & Implant Care, Dr. Audrey now works alongside Dr. Christopher Pottorff to provide comprehensive cosmetic, restorative, implant, and general dental care. Her restorative and cosmetic background complements Dr. Pottorff’s surgical implant expertise, allowing patients to receive coordinated care from treatment planning and implant placement through the final restoration and long-term maintenance.
Community and Personal Life
With lifelong roots in Algonquin and decades of experience practicing in the community, Dr. Audrey is proud to continue serving patients in Algonquin and throughout the Fox River Valley.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Audrey enjoys spending time with her British husband, John, being outdoors, traveling throughout the United States and internationally, gardening, baking, quilting, and training with her rescue dog, Jack.
